This is my deepest Seestar image to date and the conclusion of the M101 project with more than 36hours of data acquired using 10s sub exposures. Slightly more than 10000 RGB frames were used to create a
master RGB composite which was then combined with a synthesized Ha channel obtained from 2904 frames using the internal Seestar LP filter. This filter functions essentially as a broadband Ha/OIII nebula filter that is useful for shooting emission objects from urban areas and during nights with a bright moon. I separated the RGB channels from the LP filtered master and used the red channel to function as the Ha layer. Using pixel math this data was added to the RGB composite.
Data were acquired from dark sites ( Bortle 3/4 ) and my Bortle 1 location. These are located at >7500 feet elevation in Northern, NM. While I tired to minimize the influence of the moon, the LP filtered images were captured with a bright moon in the sky.
Stacking and resampling were accomplished in Siril and all post processing was done with PixInsight. I may revisit the data after I have learned a few more things.
For now I think its an interesting result with this inexpensive "toy".
